Pre A or otherwise know as Bent Screen 1950 - 1955

Hi and welcome to our little corner of the web for early 356 restorers of these little gems. I hope with this web site to try and get as much of these cars that are sitting about in garages around the world worked on. You can follow my resto as I go. I am learning all the time and enjoying it as I go.

So join in it's free and if you have already done a restoration please help out with advise if you can on the forum here.

I bought my 1954 in 1999 in Fresno California. The advert came up on web page for local cars for sale in Fresno Ca area. I think to be honest I was very lucky to find such a clean car for $7000. Only trouble was I live in the United Kingdom and I had to get the car back to the UK. I had never done anything like this before. I did all the work myself. I learnt loads and if I can help with writing how I did it. I hope you feel more informed to have a go. Porsche 356 prices have risen since

1999 I can tell you, it would be hard to find another deal as good in these Ebay times. As for this site keep looking from time to time and if you are a fellow Bent screen owner Email me a picture or a story of your car

Best thing I made was this trolley so I can move it about my work shop. It was very easy to make. It cost about £70 for the metal and about £30 for the wheels. It has transformed the way in which I can work on the car.
All sorted now thanks to the guys on 356 talk. Radium Green a 53 colour. Pic above is a car of that colour in Oz.
